Latifa Ali, a young woman born in Australia of Iraqi parents, was tricked into returning to their homeland on the pretext that her grandfather was ill. When she arrived her mother confiscated her mobile phone and passport and told Latifa she would now live as a 'good Iraqi' girl, observing ancient family customs and ultimately marry a local boy.
Latifa was horrified and spent many miserable months thinking about how to escape. Her story is gripping as it is also the story of life for millions of women in a repressed patriarchal Muslim Society.
